Fat Lip Again

Oh my! Spencer got another fat lip last night. My dad was trying to get something down from the back of the top shelf of the pantry and Spencer was standing there watching him. Needless to say, a empty plastic cereal container fell down and smacked Spencer right on the mouth. It got him on the lip where his broken tooth is. We had more blood everywhere, a huge fat lip, and tears all around. Thank goodness it was an empty container and not full. My mom and dad felt horrible, but you know, there's not much you can do about it. It was an accident, and Spencer just happened to be in the way. He's fine now. He's jumping around and wrestling with Tanner, so it can't be too bad.

Newest Look

I know I've been changing the look of my blog lately, but I haven't found anything that I've really liked until now. I found a background that I like, and I got all the colors right. The picture is Spencer at the park. He loves the slide and likes to climb up the steps himself to come down the big slide. I don't have a good picture of all three of the boys yet, so until I get one I'll just use a few pictures of the boys that I currently have. Hope you like the look, because I do.

Only a Matter of Time

Well, it happened. Spencer busted his face on the brick in front of the fireplace this morning. Funny thing is, he wasn't even playing on the bricks like he normally is. He was laying of his belly on a pillow in front of the hearth and he propped himself up on his arms, slipped, and smacked the bricks with his mouth. He split the inside of his lip pretty good and broke off about 2/3 of a front tooth. I now have to take him to a dentist 45 minutes away because of our health insurance so that a dentist can look to see if it will need to be pulled or just left alone until it falls out. What a stressful moment of time that is. All I saw was tons of blood and Spencer crying hard, which he never cries hard. So after a few frantic calls, Nick's mom drove over and helped me assess the situation. I couldn't get in touch with Nick. I told him when called at lunch that I needed him to get me emergency phone numbers for situations like this. He's not allowed to use his cell phone while he's in school. I'm tired, my poor son's smile is now altered, but it's still cute, and his mouth is swollen on the one side to the size of a small grape. When is the next traumatic injury going to happen? After all, I do have boys...

Testimony of the Book of Mormon

I was on the official website for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I came across this video of Elder Jeffrey R. Holland testifying of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. I would like to add my testimony saying that I know that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. It was translated by the power of God through the prophet Joseph Smith. The Book of Mormon is truly another testament of Jesus Christ! He lives! And He is my Redeemer and Savior!

Sheesh!

Okay, this is really ironic, because my most recent post is about how much of a blessing my kids are. Today, not so much!! It's only 11:30 and already I'm ready to shipped them somewhere! First I can't get good sleep because Bennett is so stuffy and can't breathe out of his nose, so I heard his snoring ALL night long. Then I finally get to sleep and the next thing I hear is the boys pounding on their door because they're ready to go for the day. Spencer has screamed and cried or fussed since he woke up this morning. Poor Bennett is having a hard time with his cold. He's not miserable, but he's just stuffy and has a runny nose. Tanner is alright. He has his moments of breakdowns, but he's alright otherwise. I'm just exhausted!

Blessing

I've had, not a rough day, but more of an exhausting day. The boys have been a little demanding of my attention today. But, as I was sitting on the couch watching my little one kick and play and make all kinds of new noises, I was hit with an overwhelming sense of how blessed I am to have the kids that I have. It amazes me how much Bennett has learned in his short life so far. I'm amazed every day with how quickly Tanner and Spencer are learning new words and phrases. They are probably the most frustrating things on the earth, but holy moly, they are no doubt the most incredible things on the earth as well. I love them so much!

Haircut

I had had enough of Tanner's hair today. His hair is so thick and he's needed a haircut for quite some time, but I haven't been able to get over to Nick's mom's to get it cut. So after a few days of hot weather, and literally sopping wet hair, I got Nick's clippers out and decided to try and cut his hair myself. It didn't go so well the first five minutes, so I just decided to buzz it. I used a not-so-short guard just in case I screwed up so that I could take him over to my mother-in-law's to fix it. He fussed and had to be restrained by my mom a few times, but I finally was able to make things work. I didn't do too bad of a job, but it's not my favorite haircut for Tanner. At least his hair grows fast and we can work with it as it grows. You should have seen the pile of hair on the floor when I was finished. It looked like I got a haircut. There was hair everywhere. Tanner was pretty much caked in it! Our poor kids are cursed to have thick hair thanks to both Nick and I. Between the two of us, we've got enough hair to make at least four wigs. Crazy!

Easter Weekend

Our Easter weekend was fairly relaxing. We started off dying eggs on Friday. Tanner and Spencer had a good time with that. Spencer just had to try the dying liquid. Thank goodness it's edible if necessary. He had blue lips for a little while. Nick worked on Saturday, but was home all day on Sunday.

That was nice. Saturday we spent watching General Conference - a conference put on by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which is broadcast live from Salt Lake City all across the world. So we just spent most of the day engrossed in that.

Sunday morning we went over to Nick's sister's house for breakfast with his family and an Easter egg hunt. The food was great. The weather was perfect! The boys had fun looking for eggs in the grass. They had an even better time eating the candy from those eggs. We spent the rest of the day with my family continuing with General Conference. We ate lunch between sessions. Nick and I spent as much time together as we could before he left to go back up north for the week.

Overall it was a great weekend. It's always a humbling experience to celebrate the life and resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ. I know that He lives! He is my Savior and Redeemer. Through Him all things are possible. He is my example for how to live my life. I may not be perfect at following that example, but I'm grateful that He doesn't move and that I can always come closer to Him. What a wonderful time to be alive having the knowledge that we have of Jesus Christ!
