Chaotic week managed!

Well, we made it through the chaos of a family gathering for a wedding with relatively no harm done. In fact, other than my mom complicating a few too many things, it was a pretty nice week.

Nick's graduation was great! It got a little cool as the sun dipped down, but the weather, thankfully was dry. We had some hurricane force winds (gusts of 80 mph!) two days previous that knocked down two trees by us and could have knocked down two more onto the house. Thank goodness for fervent prayers of safety! As Nick walked past during the processional, I got all emotional and started to cry. I felt like a dork, but you know, this has been four years in the making and blame it a little on being pregnant! One step of school down, maybe one more to go. We'll see!

Having family here has been great. It's also nice to have things a little back to normal. The majority of my family left yesterday, with a few stragglers leaving today. Scott's open house reception was nice. Nothing fussy, just nice. I danced to a few fast songs hoping that that would get labor started for me, but alas, nothing!

My birthday was great! It was a pretty low-key day, thankfully! Nick got home from work and had about an hour and a half before he had to go to his second job. I was pretty bummed by that. I wanted him home for my birthday. My dad fixed italian sausage subs with peppers and onions with chips on the side for my dinner. All I have to say to that is yum!! Nick made a cookie fruit pizza for my "cake"! That was awesome! So Nick was getting ready to go to work when he brought my present down. He got me a package of Dove Caramel chocolates and a little note in the bottom. It said, "Go get ready, we're going to the movies." I was thoroughly confused at this point. I asked him when we were going to the movies and he replied right now. He surprised me and took the night off from work and took me to see Iron Man. Such a nice birthday!

Yes, I'm still pregnant! I've got about 10 days left until my due date, so technically I still should be pregnant. But I'll say this much, I've had it!!!! But, it's also really starting to sink in that in the coming days, Nick and I will have two boys instead of one. My life is really going to change. But I'm really looking forward to it. I think I'll like it more once I get over the initial first month challenges. Time will tell. In the mean time, pray for a swift and gentle labor for me and that it is uneventful.
