Nick has decided what he's going to do during the week while he's at school. He is going to spend the week in a house with four other guys up north where it's closer to the train station. He'll come home on the weekends. But it's going to be a little bit more challenging for me with the boys during the week. I'm just grateful that my mom and dad and gramma are all here to help me out when I need it. Goodness knows I've needed it this week. I got a little bit of a taste of what it's going to be like with Nick gone this week.
Yesterday Tanner and Spencer decided not to take naps. They destroyed their bedroom twice! Pulled all the drawers out of their dressers, dumped their clothes, threw the drawers at each other (their dressers are only plastic stackables). Tanner has a scrape on the corner of his eye. Nick was gone yesterday evening, so I had to take care of the fussy boys' bedtime. Thankfully they put their jammies on without any problems, and Tanner actually fell asleep on my before bedtime.
Today, no nap again for Tanner. Bennett screamed A LOT today. Spencer ran head first into the corner of the desk to put yet another dent and bruise on his forehead. That makes five huge bruises on his forehead in a week - no joke! Spencer put syrup in his hair and then dessert in his hair, so that made tonight bath night. Spencer flipped out because I cleaned behind his ears. Apparently daddy doesn't do that. Then bedtime was a huge ordeal. Tanner flips out because he didn't get to say our evening prayer. Spencer goes to bed just fine. Bennett screams some more and spits up literally everywhere. All this happens while Nick is at a meeting at church.
So it's going to be a huge challenge for me while Nick is gone. I'm not looking forward to it. But I have to keep telling myself that it's not going to be very long. So, bring it on!
