What Do You Make of That?

Like most days, yesterday I was checking the employment sites on the local hospitals for any job postings for Nick.  One came up at a hospital just down the road from us and Nick applied for it.  That was Wednesday last week.  However, when I was looking at the postings yesterday, I noticed that the one that he applied for was no longer there.  Not sure of the meaning of this, I held on to this information all day.  Last night before bed, I was talking with Nick and just blurted out that the job posting wasn't there anymore.  That was a mistake.  That sent Nick into thinking that the job has already been filled and that he didn't even get an interview (which he was personally called to apply for this job by the lead tech there).  So, trying to be the supportive wife, I told him to look further into this before he started making assumptions.  He found the guy's phone number and is planning on callilng him today.  I just don't know what to think about all of this.  Time will tell I guess.

I wouldn't worry too much. Things will work out. maybe it's just me, but I often don't rely on the websites telling about openings or if positions are filled because often times they are the LAST thing to get updated. If you have an "in" at the hospital- that's the best thing to rely on. If it is filled, then I would ask your connections if they are aware of other openings in their hospital or other locations. The best jobs I've ever had (including the one I have now) all came through networking...I also recommend going to church employment center- they often offer "networking" get togethers- maybe it depends on locations, but the ones I've participated in have been fabulous!
